Hesburger

Hesburger is a Finnish fast-food chain, which in Finland has more restaurants than McDonald's and employs 4,000 people.

Hesburger was founded in 1966 in Naantali Heikki Salmela. The restaurant chain has grown considerably in the last ten years. Even in 1992, Finland had just 12 restaurants, today there are more than twenty times as many in over 80 cities. Currently, over 320 restaurants worldwide are visited by more than 100,000 customers. Hesburger already opened twelve restaurants in Estonia, ten in Latvia, in Lithuania seven, four in Germany, and one in Syria, which has since been closed.

For several years Hesburger expanded its range and now also offers internet cafes, car washes, kebabs and pasta restaurants with Internet access and a hotel in Turku.

Germany

In Germany there are 2013 Hesburger four branches, three of them on the Reeperbahn in Hamburg and since May 26, 2012, a branch at the Haymarket in Cologne's Old Town.

After years of stagnation in Germany Hesburger opened on 1 February 2008 in the northern German town of Bad Oldesloe a new store, which has since closed again after a move. Among the restaurants closed, there was also a branch at the goose market in Hamburg, which was the largest German restaurant after its opening.
