Hessische Staatskanzlei

The Hessian State Chancellery on the rim place in Wiesbaden, in the former Grand Hotel Rose, is the center of government of the state of Hesse and the official residence of the Hessian Minister President. Here also the cabinet meetings of the provincial government will be held.

Tasks

The State supports the Prime Minister in his administration. This is the policy guidelines before, represents the country abroad and exercises the right of pardon from. In the State thereby develop the 250 employees the principles of the policy of the state government to coordinate the work between ministries and represent them against the parliament. From here, the enforcement of the state parliament decisions and the execution of laws and ordinances are controlled, prepared treaties and executive agreements. At the State Chancellery also counts the Hessian State Representation in Berlin.

The State shall exercise darüberhainaus from the State supervision of the Hessian State Institute for Private Broadcasting and New Media and the Hessischer Rundfunk.

Seat

By the year 2004, the State Chancellery was spread over several buildings in Wiesbaden, which bordered directly to the park Warmer Damm. Shortly after the turn of the century acquired the land formerly the Hotel Rose at the rim space to prepare it landmark status for the State Chancellery. The building housing the companies and Jürgen Schneider acquired in the early 1990s, to turn it into a luxury hotel, stood empty for many years after its collapse in 1994. In the summer of 2004, eventually moved along with the Chancellery also a branch of the Hessian Land Statistical Office and the State Office for Political Education. Both are subordinate authorities of the State. A total of 325 employees are housed in the prestigious building from the period.
