BWf1

Hessler Peak is a 1670 m high, sharp peak at the southern end of the Dunbar Ridge in the West Antarctic Heritage Range.

The summit was mapped by the United States Geological Survey as part of the compilation of Ellsworthgebirges in the years 1961-66 by site surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named Hessler peak after Victor P. Hessler, an ionospheric physicist of the United States Antarctic Research Program, the 1965/66 and 1966/67, worked on the Soviet Vostok station in the Antarctic summer months of the years.
