Heterotetramer

A is a heterotetramer protein which has four non- covalently linked protein subunits, which are not all identical. A homotetramer, however, contains four identical subunits. Both are among the tetramers.

Examples include hemoglobin (see picture), NMDA receptor, some aquaporins, AMPA receptors as well as some enzymes.
