Heuilley-sur-Saône

Heuilley -sur -Saône is a commune in the department of Côte- d'Or in the Burgundy region. The small rural village located in the middle of fields, the breeding ground for cereals and vegetables are, pastures for livestock, and forest areas.

The population had its highest point in 1840 with a population of 900, currently, the community has 310 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011).

For eight centuries, the municipality was on the border ( the river Saône ) between the Kingdom of France and the Holy Roman Empire. Later, from 1678 to 1789, here came the borders of three provinces together, from the Duchy of Burgundy, the Franche -Comté and Champagne.
