Hi-Lili, Hi-Lo

Hi- Lili, Hi -Lo is a hit, which was written in 1952 by Bronislaw Kaper. The text is by the screenwriter Helen German. The song was used in the 1953 sung by Leslie Caron and Mel Ferrer version as soundtrack for the film Lili and thereby internationally known. Bronisław Kaper received the 1954 Academy Award for Best Original Score for the film.

The song was often gecovert, including Gene Vincent, Roger Williams, The Everly Brothers, Richard Chamberlain, Bill Evans, Manfred Mann and Rickie Lee Jones. The song was a number -one hit in Australia and Italy.

A German version was titled Hei Lili sung ( The most beautiful happiness on earth) by Leila Negra 1954.
