Hias Leitner

Mathias " Iliad " Leitner ( born September 22, 1935 in Kitzbühel) is a former Austrian alpine skier.

At the Olympic Winter Games 1960, he finished second in the slalom. In the same year he won the slalom at the Arlberg - Kandahar race in Sestriere, the Lauberhorn race in Wengen and the Harriman Cup at Sun Valley. In 1962 he won the slalom of the 3 - Tre race in Madonna di Campiglio.

1964 joined Iliad Leitner for the U.S. Pro Ski Tour and in 1966, 1967 and 1968 professional world champion.

Starting his career end of 1972 he worked until 1999 as a trainer in the Tyrolean Ski Association and the Austrian Ski Federation, where he trained, among others, the future Olympic champion Leonhard Stock, Stephan Eberharter and Benjamin Raich.
