Hilde Gueden

Hilde Güden ( born September 15, 1917 in Vienna, † September 17, 1988 in Klosterneuburg, Lower Austria), as Hulda Geiringer, was an Austrian lyric and coloratura soprano and chamber singer.

Güden debuted in 1937 at the Vienna Volksoper, 1938 in Zurich, in 1939 at the Vienna State Opera, and in 1941 engaged by the Vienna Clemens Krauss at the Munich State Opera, left Germany in 1942 because she was of Jewish origin, to sing in Rome and Florence. From 1946 to 1973, she was again a member of the Vienna State Opera. In 1951, she debuted at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, whose solid ensemble, she also belonged to 1965. At the inauguration of the Grosses Festspielhaus in Salzburg with the Rosenkavalier 1960 she sang Sophie.

It was considered one of the best Mozart and Strauss singers of her time and was also a member of the Vienna Mozart Ensemble.

Hilde Güden was married to the entrepreneur Dr. Robert Dannemann.

She was buried in the forest cemetery in Munich.
