Hillary Brooke

Hillary Brooke ( born September 3, 1914 in Astoria, New York City; † 25 May 1999 Bonsall, California ) was an American actress.

Life and career

Hillary Brooke - born as Beatrice Sofia Mathilda Peterson in New York - began working in the film business end of the 1930s with small roles. Previously, she had worked as a model. Three times they appeared in the Sherlock Holmes series with Basil Rathbone, which is also home her rise from a non -mentioned uncredited role in The Voice of Terror (1942 ) on a supporting role in ghosts in the castle (1943 ) to a starring role as can follow The Woman in Green (1945 ). Other well-known films she made with The Road to Utopia (1946 ) and The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956).

Up to and including 1960, she starred in more than 100 productions since the early 1950s, increasingly in television productions. She has performed regularly on the first season of the Abbott and Costello show from 1952 to 1953. The two comedians they had previously played in just two films. Also in the series My Little Margie had regular appearances. Also in 1960, she was honored with a star on the Walk of Fame.

Brooke was married twice, from 1941 to 1948 with Jack Voglin, then from 1960 until his death with the MGM functionary Raymond A. Klune. They had a son Donald, and an adopted daughter named Carol. It was Survived at her death at the age of 84 years of the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
