Hindeloopen

Hindeloopen ( Frisian Hylpen ) is a small Dutch town in the southwest of the province of Friesland at the edge of the IJsselmeer, the former Zuiderzee.

History

Secure documents go back to the year 779 In the year 825 the name Hindolop is in a document for the first time used for this settlement.
