Hippostratos

Hippostratus was an Indo - Greek king who reigned BC in western Punjab to 65-55.

He seems to have fought mainly against the Indo- Scythians, against which he eventually lost. His coins are in any event overprinted by Azes I, who so certainly wanted to indicate his victory.

The coins of Hippostratus show on the front of his portrait mostly with a Greek inscription on the back you will find a deity, or the ruler as a rider and an inscription in Kharoshthi.
