Hiro Yamamoto

Hiro Yamamoto ( born April 13, 1961 in Seattle ) is an American bassist, Japanese descent.

Together with Chris Cornell and Kim Thayil, with whom he had already played in the cover band The Shemp, Yamamoto founded the grunge band Soundgarden. In 1989 he left the band to finish his studies in physical chemistry at Western Washington University. His last appearance with the band took place in Amsterdam in the Melkweg. After this, the band members got into an argument, according to which Yamamoto left the band. In 1991 he joined the indie band Truly, which he left in 1998.
