Ultra Mega OK is the debut album by the American band Soundgarden. It was released by SST Records in October 1988. At the Grammy Awards in 1990, the album for the Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance was nominated.
Genesis
After the two Extended Plays Screaming Life and Fopp, and later released together as Screaming Life / Fopp by Sub Pop, was released in fall 1988, the actual debut after the band was able to sign a contract with SST Records. This met with several other interested major label in front of the head. The album was recorded in the spring of 1988 in Seattle and Newberg, Oregon.
