Hiroyuki Hosoda
Hiroyuki Hosoda (Japanese细 田 博 之, Hosoda Hiroyuki, born April 5, 1944 in Matsue, Shimane Prefecture) is a Japanese politician of the Liberal Democratic Party ( LDP), and a deputy in Shūgiin, the lower house of the national parliament for the constituency Shimane 1 within the party he belongs to the Machimura faction, the most numerous faction.
Life
Hosoda is the eldest son of the LDP MPs and Minister Kichizo Hosoda. After studying law at the University of Tokyo, he became in 1967 an official in the Ministry of International Trade and Industry ( MITI). From 1983 he worked for the public companies Sekiyu Kodan (English Japan National Oil Corp. ) in Washington, DC. After two years he returned first to the MITI, but left in 1986 for good, to work as a secretary for his father.
When his father to Shūgiin - election in 1990 retired from politics, he was a candidate in the constituency Shimane ( five seats; encompassed the whole prefecture) successfully for its successor. He was confirmed in 1993, since 1996 he was re-elected six times in a single constituency Shimane 1.
In 1994, Hosoda Parliamentary Secretary ( seimujikan ) in the Economic Planning Agency. From 2002 to 2003 he served as Minister of State for Affairs of Okinawa and the Northern Territories, privacy, and science and technology policy for the first time ministers. He then became Deputy Cabinet Secretary. In 2004, he took over from Chief Cabinet Secretary Yasuo Fukuda, resigned as this because of missed payments into the state pension system. In a cabinet reshuffle in October 2005, Prime Minister Koizumi Jun'ichirô replaced him with Shinzō Abe.
In the LDP Hosoda had already occupied as head of the foreign affairs department in 1998 and as Deputy Secretary-General in 2001 middle management positions, in 2005 he was the head of the Committee for Parliamentary Affairs until 2006 for the first time a key post in the party leadership. From 2008 to 2009 he was among the party leaders, Prime Minister Taro Aso, secretary general of the party.
