His Best is a compilation album by Sonny Boy Williamson II and published in 1997 as part of MCA / Chess' 50th Anniversary series with the 50th anniversary of Chess Records was celebrated.
General
Although hardliners like to note that the early recordings with Trumpet Records Sonny Boys are most genuine, so you have to say but that his time was the longest and most artistically and commercially successful at Chess Records. If you want to deal with the artist, so will not get you around the Chess recordings.
This compilation contains seventeen numbers from the 2 CD compilation "Essential Sonny Boy Williamson " and brings to this the title " Sad To Be Alone, " "My Younger Days" and an alternate version of " One Way Out " with Buddy Guy on guitar. During the recordings Williamson was supported by the cream of the Chicago blues musician, Muddy Waters Willie Dixon over to Buddy Guy.

The discussion of the CD on CD Universe raises no special recording out as a highlight, as they are too numerous. Cub Koda says in the All Music Guide, the CD is an excellent entry point for all those for whom more extensive compilations are too expensive.
