Historic Houses Trust of New South Wales

The Historic Houses Trust of New South Wales (HHT ) is an organization of the Australian Conservation, which was built on a statutory basis by the Government of New South Wales. It is a division of the Department of the Arts, Sport and Recreation.

Its mission includes the protection and collection of historical ensemble that serves not only buildings but also gardens, parklands and cultural events at these places. More than two million visitors each year looking at the historical sites, which oversees the HHT. The administrative headquarters is located in the historical building of the Sydney Mint in Macquarie Street, Sydney.

Tasks and ensembles

The Trust is a state trustee who has been active on the basis of the in 1980 adopted the Historic Houses Trust Act ( Monument Protection Act ). In its founding in 1980, he worked for Elizabeth Bay House and Vaucluse House; since then, his duties have expanded. The Trust is responsible in 2010 for 13 ensembles and leads in its portfolio more than 48,000 artifacts of these ensembles in New South Wales.
