Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe)

Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe ) NV ( HCME ) is a subsidiary of Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd.. (HCM ) and was founded in 1972 in the Netherlands Oosterhout. She is responsible for the production, distribution and marketing of Hitachi construction machinery in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

History

In order to meet the European demand for mini and compact excavators, HCME incorporated in The Netherlands two final assembly plants. The larger of the two is located in Amsterdam at the corporate headquarters of HCME and the smaller is about 100 km away in Oosterhout.

Mini excavators from one to six tons are produced in Oosterhout and crawler excavators up to 48 tons in Amsterdam. Both works have similar assembly equipment and systems. Around 21,000 Mini excavators have run since 1988 in Oosterhout from the tape. In Amsterdam, the production in 2003 more than 25,000 medium-sized mobile and crawler excavator mounted for recording.

In anticipation of a growing demand for Hitachi excavators in Europe end of 2006, an investment program of € 20 million was completed. This included the expansion of the existing HCME plant in Amsterdam by a 19,600 m² large assembly hall. In his Amsterdam Hitachi plant can produce up to 6,000 excavator tracked excavator series ZX110 -3 ZX470 -3 up and wheeled excavators ZX140W -3 annually.

Large and special machines come from the Hitachi works in Japan.
