Hitoshi Matsumoto

Hitoshi Matsumoto (Japanese松本 人 志, Matsumoto Hitoshi, born September 8, 1963 in Amagasaki, Japan ), known as Macchan (松 ちゃん), is a Japanese comedian. In Japan he is known as the boke half of Owarai duo Downtown alongside Masatoshi Hamada. Hailing from the Hyōgo Prefecture, he speaks the Kansai dialect.

He is a director, producer and star of the film Big Man Japan - Dainipponjin of 2007.

Career

Matsumoto was born in Amagasaki in a poor family. He has an older sister and an older brother, Takahiro Matsumoto (松本 隆博), a well-known folk guitarist who an autobiographical book titled matsumoto no ani (松本 の 兄, dt " Matsumoto's older brother " ) wrote.

He attended Ushio Elementary School and graduated in 1982 from the Technical University of Amagasaki. Although he had a secure job in a print shop, he pursued his dream of becoming a comedian. In 1982 he was invited by Hamada in the Japanese media giant Yoshimoto Kōgyō. Together they were "Downtown" and made ​​their debut in 1983.

As an admirer of Vincent van Gogh and Anne Frank, he traveled to Amsterdam to visit the Van Gogh Museum and the Anne Frank House. The trips were for Hitoshi Matsumoto no Honto (松本 人志 の 本当, GV "The true Hitoshi Matsumoto " ) filmed a special NHK BS documentary series.

He parodied tokusatsu shows repeatedly in his mission Dauntaun / Downtown no gottsu ē kanji (ダウンタウン の ごっつええ感じ) with characters such as "Go - Renjai ", " Miracle Ace" and " Aho Aho Man" and in his directorial debut " Dainipponjin ".
