The HK Ves ​​is a Slovak ice hockey club of the city Ves, which was founded in 1934 and again since 2010 playing in the Slovak League 1. Play their home games in the club from Zimný Štadión Ves, which holds 6,500 spectators.

History

1922 was founded in Ves the Atleticky Club Ves. From 1924 Ves Hockey was played, so that in 1934 a hockey department was established within the AC. During the Second World War, no hockey was played, but in the 1950s, renamed Lokomotíva club again took part in the regional play operation. All sports leagues were reorganized into Czechoslovakia before the season 1960/61. Starting in 1973, the club participated in the first SNHL, the split second division of Czechoslovakia, in part. At the end of the season 1990/91 the runner-up title was achieved in this league.

With the reorganization of the leagues in the independence of Slovakia HK VTJ Ves was added the Extraliga in the highest league in Slovakia. But just two years later, the relegation to the second division, the 1st league. Again, a year later, the club reached the Championship 1st League and managed the re-emergence in the Extraliga. By 2000, the team remained in the Extraliga and twice reached the playoff quarterfinals. 2000 was followed by the re- descent into the first league, the additional two years later left the club towards Extraliga. 2003 HK Ves ​​rose again in the first league. In 2007 he reached the playoff final, but failed 4-2 on MHK SkiPark Kežmarok. 2008, the club came again to the finals before, but lost the final series with 1:4 against the HC 05 Banská Bystrica.

At the end of the 2008/09 season the team defeated from Ves the SHK 37 Piestany in the playoff final series 3-1 and thus won the third championship of the league.
