HMS Eskimo

Three ships of the British Royal Navy have been named HMS Eskimo.

  • The first HMS Eskimo was an auxiliary cruiser 1914 until 1915. He was then returned to the owners and applied 1916 by the German auxiliary cruiser SMS Gull.
  • The second HMS Eskimo was a Tribal - class destroyer which was launched in 1936 and scrapped in 1949.
  • The third HMS Eskimo was a frigate of the Tribal class, which was launched in 1960 and in 1986 was sunk as a target ship.
