HMS Thistle
Several ships of the British Royal Navy have been named HMS Thistle. Thistle is the English word for the thistle, which is the emblem flower of Scotland:
- HMS Thistle (1812 ) was a brig of 12 guns. The ship was launched, 1812 and was scrapped in 1823.
- HMS Thistle (1855 ) was a gunboat Depper class. The ship was launched in 1855 and scrapped in 1863.
- HMS Thistle (1868 ) was a gunboat. The ship was launched in 1868 and was sold in 1888.
- HMS Thistle (1899 ) was a gunboat of the Bramble - class. The ship was launched in 1899 by Stack, and was sold in 1926.
- HMS Thistle ( N24 ) was a submarine of the T class. The boat was launched in 1939 and 1940 was sunk by a German U- boat.
