HMY Victoria and Albert

The Victoria and Albert was a motor yacht with two steam-powered paddle wheels. She had the function of a royal yacht for the State of the reigning Monarch and was operated by the Royal Navy. For this reason, it is regularly referenced with the Schiffsnamenpräfix " HMY ". The yacht was designed by Symonds and at the shipyard in Pembroke Dock constructed ( keel was laid in 1842 ), her launch was on 25 April 1843. The ship had a tonnage of 1,034 tons and was armed with two guns. Victoria and Albert was the first Royal Yacht, which had a steam engine with 430 hp.

The Victoria and Albert was in service from 1843 to 1855 and made 20 trips at this time. After the launch of the successor yacht of the same name on 16 January 1855 was renamed Osborne and 1868 scrapped.
