HNK Segesta

HNK Segesta Sisak is a Croatian football club from the town of Sisak. It is the oldest club in Croatia and this part of Europe, which is also still active. Currently playing after the re-emergence in 2007 in the second Croatian league.

History

Was founded in 1906 under the name NK Segesta Sisak and renamed except for a seven-year period after the Second World War, when the name in Naprijed (Eng. forward ), always antretend under this name, the greatest club successes in the former Yugoslavia were three seasons in the second highest league in the country. 1966/67, 72 /73 and 78/79 was followed by the rise always the direct descent.

With the secession of Croatia from the Yugoslav Football Association Football Association, the club received the current name and competed in the second division of the independent Croatia. Between 1992 and 1997, Segesta Sisak was first division and participated in the UEFA Intertoto Cup 1996 part.
