Hobie Cat

Hobie Cats are small, light sailing catamarans and trimarans ( " TriFoiler " ), which are used both for racing and for the recreational boating.

Designed the Hobie Cats from Hobart Age (nickname: Hobie ). The manufacturer is the U.S. shipyard Hobie. But from the Hobie 16 more than 135,000 boats have been delivered worldwide.

Hobie Cat sailors in the International Hobie Cat Class Association ( IHCA ) organized. The Hobie 16 is the most widely used model. All models are equipped with a trampoline between the floats, where the sailors can move. The boats are designed for one to six persons.

History

Hobart age presented in 1968 before the beach catamaran Hobie 14. Due to the success of advanced Hobie 16 in 1971 brought to the market. More models followed.
