Hobie 16

The Hobie 16 is a sports sailing catamaran. He was 14 in 1970 from Hobart Age (nickname " Hobie " ) designed as a big brother of the Hobie Cat and built up to now more than 135,000 times. This makes it the world's most frequently sailed catamaran class. 1989 got the Hobie 16 by the International Sailing Federation ( ISAF), officially the international status as an entity class.

Development

Since its launch 16 following features have been modified at Hobie:

  • Sixfold stocky Cunningham
  • Modified jib halyard to change the mast rake during sailing
  • Gennaker with snuffer kit. International Youth Championships will be sailed in, and recognized regattas in Germany with spinnaker ( spinnaker)
