The Hohe Salve is a scenic mountain between Kufstein, Wörgl and Kitzbühel in Tyrol. It is one of the Kitzbühel Alps, and supported by the nickname of the Rigi Tyrol. The summit is at an altitude of 1828 m above sea level. A., and offers good views of the Hohe Tauern and the Zillertal Alps and the Wilder Kaiser mountains, the Hohe Salve is located directly north in warmer weather. From the summit of the Grossglockner and the GROßVENEDIGER are seen.

Characteristics

The mountain has a very distinctive cone shape. At the top are an ancient pilgrimage chapel ( Sanctuary Hohe Salve ), a restaurant and a transmission tower. Furthermore, the Summit is developed by the two gondolas from Söll and Hopfgarten. The Summit Restaurant and the church belong to the village of Westendorf, the transmission tower to Hopfgarten.

In winter, the Hohe Salve is part of the area " Ski World Wilder-Kaiser/Brixental ", there are several peaks departures to the surrounding villages Söll, Itter, Hopfgarten and Brixen im Thale.

Due to its shape and position of the Hohe Salve is also a popular starting point for paragliders.

The name is probably alpenromanisch.

Transmitter Hohe Salve

On the territory of the municipality Hopfgarten is the transmitter " Hohe Salve ", which is operated by the ORS. It supplies the northeast Tyrol, parts of the district Mies Bach and the district of Rosenheim in Bavaria and a small part of the western province of Salzburg.
