The High Limburg Train is the only railway station of the Hagen district Hohenlimburg and belongs to the train station category 5

Location

The station is located on the edge of Hohenlimburger downtown. Directly across the street is the bus station, from where buses run by Hagen tram AG and Märkischen transport company in the direction of Hagen -Mitte, Weather, Iserlohn, Hemer and Nachrodt- Wiblingwerde. Already at the end of the platform there was a railroad crossing, which is, however, given way to the new bridge.

History

Until well into the 20th century the station was of great importance for the steel industry in Hohen Limburg. There also existed the Hohenlimburger small path that was connecting the industrial area in Nahmertal with the station. It has ceased operations in 1983. Until a few years ago was against the persons platform, a goods station, which was, however, now demolished. In 2011 began the major reconstruction measure of the train station area, was consequently the station building and demolished after the car park above the bus station, of a roundabout to access has also been set up to train station. In addition, a main platform instead of the reception building was newly built, allows the direct accessibility to the bus stop. The station was officially released for use on 24 August 2012.

Traffic

Currently, the station is served by two lines, the Regional Express 16 (Ruhr -Sieg- Express) from Essen to victories or Iserlohn and regional train 91 ( Ruhr-Sieg -Bahn ) from Hagen to Siegen or Iserlohn. Both lines are operated since 2007 by the Abellio Rail NRW, since the trains at your nearest station Letmathe be separated, and the individual parts go to Iserlohn or more victories.
