Hokkekō

As Hokkekō (Japanese法 华 讲) or Hokkekō Rengokai the community of believers of the Nichiren Shoshu laity is called. The term Hokke here refers to the Lotus Sutra ( Hokke - kyō or Myōhōrenge - kyō ), kō with the addition means Hokkekō translated as "lay group of Lotus School". This term leads the Nichiren Shoshu - back to the term Hokkekōshū (法 华 讲 众), even his lay followers is said to have referred to the Nichiren.

The Hokkekō communities are mostly a local temple of Nichiren Shoshu - ( inside and outside of Japan ) is assigned. The individual groups are linked together rather loosely, the Hokkekō Rengokai is to be regarded as a kind of umbrella organization for all the lay faithful of this school of Nichiren Buddhism and its head office at Taiseki -ji, the head temple of Nichiren Shoshu - has.
