Holenbrunn–Leupoldsdorf railway

The railway line Holenbrunn - Leupoldsdorf was a single-track branch line in the northeastern Bavaria. She was one of seven rail lines that previously opened up the Fichtelgebirge.

History

The railway line Holenbrunn - Leupold village was built in two stages. First, the Bavarian State Railways closed from August 15, 1877, the city Wunsiedel by a " main line with secondary meaning" ( secondary sheets existed in Bavaria until 1882) at the same time opened the main railway yard - Holenbrunn, which in 1878 led by Holenbrunn Marktredwitz further. On 8 November 1913, the extension of the line of Wunsiedel to Leupoldsdorf followed as local railway. Supposedly was the extension of the line at the instigation of the owner of the hammer lock in Leupoldsdorf Rosa von Müller. This was at the opening, however, already no longer in possession of the castle.

On September 28, 1975, the passenger of the eleven -kilometer route was discontinued. In the fall of 1981, the station building in Leupoldsdorf was stopped and set the freight on the route between Schönbrunn and Leupoldsdorf on 25 September 1993, this shut down, the rest of route followed on 31 December 1994, after the freight, especially the loading of quartz, was set on 19 October of the same year.
