Holešovice

Holešovice, until 1960 Holešovice - Bubny ( German Holleschowitz - boys ) is a district of Prague. The largest part of the district is part of the 7th arrondissement, a smaller part belongs to the first city district.

Holešovice is located three kilometers north-east of the city center on the left side of the Vltava River in Prague the great loop of the river across from Karlin, Liben and Troy. History

The first written mention of the village was made in 1228 in connection with the Vladiken Bohumil Holešovice. Until the 19th century Holešovice remained a rural settlement, was the center on the site of the present railway station.

After the abolition of patrimonial Holešovice formed together with Bubny a municipality. Since the 1870s, the village became an industrial suburb of Prague. In 1884 the municipality of Holešovice - Bubny was incorporated into Prague and formed until 1960 the city district Prague 7 Since 1961 belongs Holešovice 7th and 1 municipality.

Sports

Before the First World War, with " Union Hole Scho joke" a local football club. This won on 25 May 1913 sweepstakes at the German ball game club storm Prague 5-4.
