Holger Sinding-Larsen

Petter Andreas Holger Sinding -Larsen, Peter Andreas Holger Sinding -Larsen ( born July 5, 1869 in Christiania, † December 12, 1938 ) was a Norwegian architect.

Sinding -Larsen is so far the only Norwegian Olympic medalist within an Art Contest, in which he in 1920 before the Olympic Games of Antwerp won a silver medal with a design for a building plan of a gymnastics school.

Holger Sinding -Larsen was the son of Nils Ulrik Alfred Sinding -Larsen and Elizabeth Long. He was educated at the Technical University of Kristiania and at the Technical University Berlin ( 1893).

Sinding -Larsen created in 1902 a church for Vålerenga, a chapel at Holmenkollen, the museum building in Tøyen ( 1904-1917 ), the University of Oslo Library ( 1913-1922 ) and a church in Lomen (1914 ). From 1907 to 1924 he was Bauinspekteur at Oslo University and directed the restoration of the old auditorium and was also the architect for the new hall from the year 1911. He led the restoration work of the Akershus Fortress ( 1905-1922 ). Based on his research, he published a development history of Akershus Håkon V. to Christian IV in two volumes ( 1924-1926 ). In addition, Sinding -Larsen was for many years head of state craft and art industrial school.
