Holger Wehlage

Holger Wehlage ( born July 3, 1976 in Meppen in Emsland ) is a German football player.

Wehlage began his career at SV Meppen, where he played until 1998 in the youth, the last two years in the Bundesliga 2, but could not prevail.

In 1999 he moved to VfB Luebeck in the Regionalliga Nord and a year later to FC St. Pauli, where he excelled in the next two years and was able to play to the attention of bigger clubs. For the 2001/02 season Wehlage moved to Werder Bremen. A broken leg suffered before the change made ​​it difficult to acclimatization, which is why he has difficulties took root. For the second half of the season 2002/ 03 Wehlage was loaned to the then second division Union Berlin, where he was a regular player. But even after his return to Bremen, he could not prevail at Werder. At the beginning of the season 2003/ 04 he was briefly on the go in the starting eleven, then denied, however, only five appearances for Werder Bremen where he was usually loaded until shortly before the final whistle. As a substitute, he was this season with Werder Bremen German DFB Cup champion and winner. Mid-2004 Wehlage again in the second league, this time for MSV Duisburg, where he was a regular in the first round, in the second half, however, about the status of Einwechselspielers hardly it past.

For the 2005/2006 season Wehlage joined the Regionalliga Nord to the second division relegated Rot-Weiss Essen, with which he managed the direct re-emergence in 2006. In May 2007 he signed for two years at the second division relegated Eintracht Braunschweig. After a tibia and fibula fracture he could no longer recommended for the first team of the third division and played after the winter break 2008/ 09 until the expiry of the contract in the second team of the club. On 22 October 2009 Wehlage found a new club, he moved to the Football Oberliga BSV Ölper 2000. Since 19 November 2009, he served as player-coach of the first team of the BSV. In 2010/11 he became a coach / player-coach for the Lower Saxony district division side SSV Didderse.
