Holly Golightly (singer)

Holly Golightly (born 1966 in London, England as Holly Golightly Smith) is a British singer and songwriter.

As a friend of Thee Headcoats - drummer Bruce Brand Golightly was at a gig the Headcoats asked by the band spontaneously to sing something. This convinced frontman Billy Childish so much that he called shortly after Thee Headcoatees with Golightly as a singer in the Life ( 1991).

After four years, she left the group in 1995 and released her debut album, The Good Things, in contrast to the Headcoatees publications ( garage rock ) music-style- connected ( blues, folk, jazz, rock and roll, 60s pop ). It was followed by many more singles, EPs and albums. On them Golightly worked repeatedly with other musicians, including the White Stripes on their album Elephant (Song: It's True That We Love One Another ), Mudhoney, Rocket From the Crypt and in the song " There 's an end" of the Greenhornes. Jack White of the White Stripes wrote the liner notes for their album Truly She's None Other ( 2003).

2005 published two of her songs on the soundtrack to Jim Jarmusch's film Broken Flowers. Besides their own songs, the music collector covert unknown songs, mainly from the Soul of the 1960s. Since 2007 she has predominantly occurs along with Lawyer Dave as a duo " Holly Golightly and the Brokeoffs ". The music has changed a lot in this direction folk.
