Holy Family
As Holy Family understands Christianity Jesus of Nazareth with his mother Mary and his foster father, St.. Joseph.
Representations
Scenes from the Christmas story (Nativity, Adoration of the Shepherds, Adoration of the Magi from the East, Flight into Egypt ), as found in the visual arts of the West or in nativity scenes, almost always contain a representation of the Holy Family. In the liturgical year of the Catholic Church, the feast of the Holy Family is celebrated on Sunday either in the Octave of Christmas or on December 30th. In the Catholic tradition, a veneration of the Holy Family begins only in modern times.
