Holy Trinity Cathedral, Blaj

The Trinity Cathedral Blaj in the Transylvanian city Blaj is the bishop's church of the Romanian Greek-Catholic Großerzbistums Fagaras and Alba Iulia. It was built in 1738-1765 on the orders of Bishop Inocenţiu Micu designed by the architect Anton Erhard Martinelli and Johann Baptist Martinelli and consecrated in 1756. 1837, under Bishop Ioan Lemeni, the facade was completed by the placement of the two towers.

The cathedral is the first Baroque church of the Romanians, due to the affiliation of Transylvania to the Habsburg Monarchy in the 18th century.
