Hommel (crater)

Hommel is an impact crater in the southern lunar front side, southeast of Pitiscus and southwest of Vlacq. The rim is heavily eroded and layered repeatedly from side craters.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the German theologian, mathematician and astronomer Johannes Hommel.
