Honkbal Hoofdklasse
The Honkbal Hoofdklasse is the highest Dutch league baseball sport. The league consists of 8 teams who deny ever 42 games per season. The League, founded in 1922 starting its season in April and ends in September with the play-offs, to be attended by the top four teams in the regular season. The master of the final series, the so-called Holland Series, automatically participates in Baseball European Cup.
In contrast to the North American Major League Baseball exists in the Honkbal Hoofdklasse since the 2005 season, a promotion and relegation system.

History
The league began operating in 1922 and was initially focused on Amsterdam. Founding teams were Ajax, Blauw - Wit, Hercules and quick. Soon teams from Haarlem were added.
