Hoorn Islands

The Horn Islands (also Hoorn Islands or Futuna Islands) are a small South Pacific southwest of Samoa and north-east of Fiji located, politically to the French overseas territory of Wallis and Futuna belonging, Archipelago. Geographically, the islands of Polynesia to.

The group consists of the islands of Futuna, 46 km ² area, the main island, and the south adjacent smaller island of Alofi together ( about 18 km ² ) as well as some offshore reef. The total land area of the Horn islands is 64 km ².

Population

On Futuna today is home to around 4,200 people. The neighboring island of Alofi is the islanders for the cultivation of coconuts, exotic fruits and vegetables, is largely inhabited only seasonally ( a permanent resident ).
