Hörby transmitter

The transmitter Hörby is a transmitter of the Swedish broadcasting for ultra-short wave and DVB- T near Hörby in Skåne.

He was used to the commissioning of medium wave transmitter Sölvesborg 1985 for broadcasts in the medium wave range. To this end was 130 meters, insulated against ground, guyed steel framework mast, which was dismantled in 1985.

For the shortwave broadcasts several curtain antennas and log periodic antennas were used. For radiation of FM and TV programs is a 1959 erected 323 meters high, guyed steel lattice mast. The FM broadcasts are received in adjacent regions in Denmark and Germany, especially on the island of Rügen and Vorpommern.

The shortwave transmission towers were 2 April 2011 gesprengt.Dabei a 57 -year-old, long-time employee of the shortwave transmitting station died of a heart attack.
