Horner Rennbahn

The racecourse Hamburg-Horn, also referred to as Horner Racecourse is a racecourse for horseracing in Hamburg's horn. In honor of the nearby metro station Horner is named racecourse of the U2 and U4.

History

In 1855 the construction of the racecourse in the Prussian village Horn, east of Hamburg began. Since 1869 (at first, then and now North German Deutsches Derby Derby gallop Deutsches Derby) held there the gallop derby. In 1870 the first totalizator was in a shack in Germany. Horn was elevated in 1874 to the suburb of Hamburg; the incorporation as a district was 1894. On the grandstands and standing room for 50,000 visitors find space.
