The Horseshoe Valley (English Horseshoe Valley ) is an ice-covered valley in the Heritage Range, the southern chain of the Ellsworthgebirges in West Antarctica. The horseshoe shaped valley bounded by the mountains and hills of the Independence Hills, Marble Hills, Liberty Hills, Enterprise Hills, Douglas Peaks and Patriot Hills.

The name of the valley was first used by U.S. Navy pilots who flew in the area. A research expedition of the University of Minnesota, who visited the area in 1962-63, suggested after returning to record the name officially. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names came to this proposal by the year 1965.

In the years 1996 and 1997 were under funded by the Chilean Antarctic Institute project " Glaciologic studies at Patriot Hills, Antarctica" made using ground penetrating radar for the first time accurate measurements of the ice sheet in Horseshoe Valley. In addition, we measured using GPS to ice flow and the surface topography of the valley.
