Horst Giese

Horst Giese ( born January 31, 1926 in Neuruppin, † December 29, 2008 in Potsdam ) was a German actor and radio playwrights.

Giese in 1945 actor, first on stage, then for television; since 1954 almost exclusively for DEFA. He often played minor roles in nearly 40 films and an even larger number of television films. Several times he was cast as Joseph Goebbels.

An accident forced him in 1972 to a longer career break, during which he wrote the radio play The very strange jazz Adventures of Mr. Lehmann and in which he spoke all the roles: The radio play was not accepted by the broadcast of the GDR, but broadcast on Rias until 1991. It was in 1991 awarded the prestigious Radio Drama Award of the War Blind; also it was in January 1992 radio play of the month. In 1982 he played in the produced and directed by Frank Beyer film The stay.

Horst Giese also worked as a Stasi spy; well documented is the case of involvement in the abduction of Carl August von Halle in 1956, which led to his conviction and imprisonment ..
