Hotlegs

The Hotlegs was a short-lived studio band from the United Kingdom, with their song " Neanderthal Man," a million-seller (1970 UK # 2, DE # 4, AT # 7, CH Place 3 ) created and became world famous.

Supposedly, the song was only included to test the equipment in the newly acquired by Eric Stewart and Graham Gouldman "Strawberry Studio ". All the musicians had previously played in other bands and became known after the end of " Hotleg - test " as 10cc and famous.

" Neanderthal Man" came from the pen of Stewart, Lol Creme and Kevin Godley, who created him as she jingled in the new studio at the instruments. It supposedly originated by chance the refrain "I'm a Neanderthal Man - you're a Neanderthal girl - let's make Neanderthal love - in this Neanderthal world". A Philips Records overheard and offered 500 pounds sterling to as an advance to publish it as a plate. The song has sold over two million copies worldwide.

The title of the song was referring to the Neanderthals, a prehistoric people from the Pleistocene, whose fossil remains were found in 1856 in the Neander Valley in the area of the city Erkrath in North Rhine -Westphalia.

Then the Hotlegs published two more singles and an LP entitled " Thinks: School Stinks ," but had no further success.
