House-Museum of Lope de Vega

Casa Museo Lope de Vega is a museum in downtown Madrid, located in the famous museums triangle Triangle, del Arte.

History

The Real Academia Española received in 1931 the patronage of the Cabrejos Garcia Foundation, the owner of the house, in which the Spanish poet Félix Lope de Vega spent the last 25 years until his death in 1635.

After completion of the partial renovation of this building in 1935 was declared a National Monument and made ​​available to the public. Another restoration took place 1973-1975. The renovation of the facade in 1990 and 1992 carried out by the Madrid City Council, which is the owner of the building today.

Exhibition

In the rooms of Casa Lope de Vega, the major works, studies and manuscripts Lope de Vega are housed. The furnishings of his last years are in the style of the so-called Golden Age (Spanish Siglo de Oro ).

The museum is only possible after registration and accompaniment. Admission is free. The guides for up to 10 people take about 45 minutes.
