HouseTrip
HouseTrip is an online platform founded in 2009 for booking and rental of private homes and vacation homes around the world. On the internet both private individuals as well as professional apartment providers can offer complete apartments or houses for guests. The company, based in Lausanne ( Switzerland ), with additional offices in London and Lisbon was awarded for the second time as the best start -up of Switzerland. In the UK, the Times HouseTrip elected one of the 50 best travel websites.
Currently (September 2013) provides HouseTrip on over 250,000 actively listed homes and is one of the major providers of apartments. The supply of apartments is divided into two categories: user can search either for complete homes or for a bedroom in a private apartment.
Foundation
Arnaud Bertrand and Junjun Chen his wife Arnaud founded HouseTrip in 2009, the platform went live in January 2010 for the first time. Since the company was able to HouseTrip recorded over four million overnight stays. HouseTrip is funded by three venture capital companies from Switzerland, the UK and the U.S., which invested to date approximately 60 million Swiss francs in the start-up.
Concept
HouseTrip is an online marketplace for private rentals on the Internet. On the side of our users rentals like classic apartments or homes, but also provides exceptional accommodation, such as a houseboat in Amsterdam or a house from the 15th century in Provence. The booking is made directly on the site, so no advance payments must be made to the respective owners. HouseTrip is to deduct up to 24 hours after check-in in the holiday home. Hosts can exchange at HouseTrip on the ' Wall ' by questions and answers with their guests and ads in the category ' Reviews' responses to their object. The setting and offering apartments on HouseTrip is free for hosts.
