Hovsep Aznavur

Hovsep Aznavor ( born May 21, 1854 in London, † the end of June 1935 in Cairo ) was a famous Armenian architect. Its iron construction of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church of St. Stefan of Fener in Istanbul is exceptional.

Life

Hovsep Aznavor was born in 1854 in London. His family moved in 1867 to Constantinople Opel. His studies he finished in Rome at the Academy of Fine Arts. Hovsep Aznavor assumed various positions within the Armenian community in Constantinople Opel as well as Cairo. He was a founding member of the Sahmanatragan Ramkavar, a party that emerged from the 1921, the Democratic- Liberal Party ( Ramkavar - Asatakan ), one of the three great historical Armenian parties. He left Constantinople Opel after the genocide of the Armenians and died in late June 1935 in Cairo.
