Howard Cruse

Howard Cruse ( born May 2, 1944 in Springville, Alabama) is an American comic book writer who is mainly known for his work on gay issues.

The son of a pastor and a housewife grew up in Birmingham ( Alabama). The early 70s he began drawing comics and moved in the 80 years the Underground leaf Gay Comix. In 1983 he published the humorous comic strip Wendel in gay magazine The Advocate. He created the early 90s in four years, the graphic novel The Edge of Heaven, which earned him international recognition and several significant comic prices.

He lives with his friend, the writer Eddie Sedarbaum, whom he married in 2004, and since 2003 in North Adams (Massachusetts ).
