Howard Jackson (boxer)

Howard E. Jackson (born 27 July 1951 in Detroit, Michigan; † 7 March, 2006 City of Hope, Duarte, California ) was an American boxer, karate fighter and kickboxer.

Born as the eldest of four children, he already lost his parents at a young age. The two brothers died a violent early death; only sister Corliss and Howard himself grew up. In 1967 he began Kung Fu ( Wushu ) to study, then subsequently moved to Tang Soo Do and got there in 1970 a black belt by Hwang Kee.

The point he began to struggle during the time when the United States Marine Corps, where he was nicknamed California Flash. He coached among others with Chuck Norris, Bob Wall, and Pat Johnson. Later Joe Lewis took great influence on his style of fighting.

1974 sets Jackson because of an injury from fighting, but returns back in 1976 as a contract fighter for PCA. In 1980 he won the WKA Welterweight Title and later became the sixth- best boxer of his class at the World Boxing Association. In 1983, he ended the career and worked as a bodyguard and personal trainer for Chuck Norris and as bodyguards for the band The Temptations; He also held seminars. He was involved in various films (eg Missing in Action 3 Chuck Norris ) and television shows involved as an actor as well as a fighter and stuntman.

Howard Jackson had three children: Howard Jr., a police officer in Los Angeles, Jeremy, hockey players in Canada ( Western Hockey League) and hip- hop musician, and Amber Nicole, a student.

In February 2002, Jackson was diagnosed with leukemia, where he died in 2006.
