The Hrútafjörður is a fjord in northwestern Iceland on the eastern edge of the West Fjords. This is a southern branch of the bay Húnaflói.

Description

Colonization

The first settlers, Ingimundur, named the fjord to rams ( Isl hrútar ) that he saw here. Also, an island in the fjord takes its name: Aries island Hrútey. Transport links
