History

HSBC Bank Middle East Limited has existed since 1959, but the history of the bank in the Near / Middle East goes on back on. The bank was founded in 1889 by a royal decree of Queen Victoria and a license from the government of Persia as Imperial Bank of Persia, and thus as the State Bank of Persia in London. The bank was later to The British Bank of the Middle East ( BBme ) and then to today's HSBC Bank Middle East Limited.

The Bank is working for business and residential customers in Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates today.

Bank branches

The parent company HSBC has a number of offices in various countries of the Middle East. The banking itself been taken over by the subsidiary HSBC Bank Middle East Limited with their local representatives, they are also responsible for the financial participation of the Bank at the British Arab Commercial Bank.

Bahrain

The Bank has seven offices in Bahrain, including offshore bank is a subsidiary. HSBC serves both residential and business customers in Bahrain. HSBC is with offices in Manama, Seef, Adliya and Muharraq and 17 ATMs, the largest foreign bank in Bahrain.

Jordan

HSBC operates two offices in Jordan and is also in the telephone and Internet banking in the country operates.

Lebanon

The Bank has been active since 1946 in Lebanon. A total of seven offices located in St.Georges Bay, Achrafieh, Dora, Ras Beirut, Verdun and Zouk. Telephone and Internet banking services are also offered by HSBC in Lebanon.

Oman

HSBC has since 1948 worked in Oman and now operates four offices for the business and private client operation. The Bank is also active in the whole range of banking and trade as a private bank in Oman. The Bank also performs supervision of the Muscat Securities Market, the stock exchange of Oman. The Bank has been criticized because it does not have bank cards available to their customers.

Qatar

HSBC has worked for both private and business customers in Qatar as a bank. HSBC operates five offices in Qatar and has 21 own ATMs in different places. HSBC is the largest foreign bank operating in Qatar.

United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates has a key position in the business of banking. The bank operates 24 branches there. The Emirates are also the seat of regional headquarters.

Kuwait

HSBC has been working since 2005 in Kuwait. The Bank operates a branch in Khorafi Tower in Kuwait City.

Pakistan

HSBC has been working in Pakistan since 1982. Since the start of business in the country, the Bank has been active in all major cities of the country and offers 11 offices in a comprehensive banking services to private and business customers. The representatives of HSBC were originally used by the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited - operated, but in 2008 the offices were sold to HSBC Bank Middle East Limited - a subsidiary of the parent company HSBC.
